Where something is stirred within Tiger

Tiger sits within the lonely cage

Peering out beneath the bars of rage

Tamer’s gone, never to return

Tiger’s back still festers and burns

The pain’s been long in coming,

To which there seems no ending.

Tiger’s pain,

Tamer’s cane.

Who cares.

When Tiger decides between fight or flight

Blind to tiger’s pain,

Deaf to tiger’s heaving groan

Stilled to tiger’s suffering

Sitting bare on cage’s floor

Wondering between fight or flight

To run from cracking whip and stinging slights

Out of sound and out of sight

It’s leftovers, or nothing at all

Fight or flight

for only one is right

Lusty roaring already stilled

along with passions quelled

curl in thy corner

out of sound.

out of sight.

The Lost Smile

The Lost Smile

it begins with a twitching at the side of your cheeks
slowly but surely its existence undeniable inevitable
so quickly you recoil once again
the barriers once again brought up
prevent you from hurt
protect you from harm
did you know its gone
hidden in the place
broken toys wounded hearts and shattered dreams
where you hid your smile

you dont see it do you little do you know its already gone whenever i told you how gorgeous you are both in the light and in the dark i meant every single word of it especially when you smiled yet i saw it the first time i saw you smile the same smile i fell in love with was not the one my heart truly desired look at the eyes as i always said not the lips the eyes are reserved guarded feared and once the reason was gone it never existed again for it never belonged to me it was never mine

The cries in the dark, the wails in the shadows.
Blood screams to blood like sirens in the night.
You were never mine to have, to hold, to..

Walk with me towards the light,
I’d use every ounce of strength,
to carry you when you are weak,
to help you up when you fall,
but remember this:
Just one step before the light,
I’d nudge you over the threshold,
and as the light suffuses your being,
as the gentle whiteness touches your face,
I’d release your hand and fall,
falling backwards into the dark once again.
Remember what I’ve always reminded you of.
Look away bright eyes, Because sometimes, I fall apart.
This, my love, is the only gift that I can give to you.

Go, go into the light
Rediscover that smile you lost.
It’s somewhere out there.
Let me be the ultimate fool.
For I am of the damned.
World’s use is cold,
World’s love is vain,
World’s cruelty is bitter bane,
But Pain is not the fruit of pain.

Go, now. Find your smile.
Give it to someone worthwhile.

One little bird perched on a barren branch,

never ceases singing for the world,

everlasting, endless, eternal

This sanity’s not what’s meant to be,

his misery’s taken a new stand

one last time at the point of no return

use it and beg for the chance

she’s one more chance to escape from all this madness

a final chance to be set free from all this sadness

no more black dreams where only I believe

dreams, so far beyond reality

Always in dreams you feel the haunting pain

under the hidden fears

the silent screams and tears

use it to call my name i’ll hear you scream

my time is only so much

never have I seen such

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

Just maybe,

Sky looks red,

Red sky night,

Sailor’s delight

Red sky morning,

Sailor’s morning

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

so i can stand it in

and tell people the wetness

on my face

was just rainwater

Maybe it’ll rain tonight,

so i can catch another sight

of the pearly globules

falling from the heavens

and try to catch them

in the palm

of my hand

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

so no one can hear

me screaming above

the thunderous lighting

or blazing thunders

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

so when i call out

when my voice is raw

and my throat is torn

from calling

your name.

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

so when i tear at myself

the cool rainwater

will salve my wounds

and calm the fever

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

so I can look

to the sky

and know

i’ve lost her

but at least

she’s under

the same sky.

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

so when

I hurl myself off

the rain will

wash all the blood

Maybe it’ll rain tonight

I hope it’ll rain tonight.

If winter’s an etching,
And spring a water-colour,
Or summer’s an oil-painting.
Autumn’s the mosaic of them all.
My running flame over the mountains,
my wild-fire in the prairie,
my torch flung to the trees.
That blazing, gorgeous red that lights up my life.

Tiger Tiger Tamer

Fie, cruel ringmaster, temperamental tiger tamer

spare thy cruel whip and stinging commands

thy cat lies broken

tail clipped

ears nipped

body whipped

teeth filed down

declawed like a common housecat

Is the tiger still a threat bound like a common hog on slaughterhouse table

sides pierced with blood running down its hide, eyes glazed, nose bruised

senses dulled. Tiger feels no more pain, ’tis tragic beast of burden and suffering

Tiger mourns the tenuous memory of biting thy tamer’s wrist,

for no beast shalt bite the hand that feeds them,

yet even as scars remain upon her lissome arm, beat tiger into submission

tiger sits within the iron bars

nose pressed between the steel restraints

mournfully gazing at a world beyond

no escape, no road to freedom

The fire’s gone, the light is out

Even embers cease to glow

Snuff life itself out,

tiger only dreams

his tiger dreams

those striped
